Mission
Statement
Founded in 1947 by Grantland
Rice, General Douglas MacArthur and Colonel Earl (Red) Blaik, The National
Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame is dedicated to mobilizing
the constructive forces of amateur football, at all levels, for the benefit
of society as a whole.
The National Football
Foundation and College Hall of Fame is an exciting and progressive, member
supported, non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the future of
amateur football at the local, state, and national levels. Since its beginnings
in 1947, the Foundation has relied upon the support of volunteers to bring
its mission and goals to communities all across the nation. Today, thanks
to the more than 100,000 volunteers who generously became members over
the past 53 years, the National Football Foundation has grown to 118 chapters
with a presence in 49 of the 50 states.
The National Football
Foundation and College Hall of Fame Chapter 135 is dedicated to preserving
the spirit of amateur football, its character building attributes and its
vital role in the education process in Western New York.
The local chapter's primary
function is to promote the sport of football on the amateur level from
youth leagues through high school and college football. The chapter honors
football scholar-athletes from the area high schools, prep schools and
colleges and also sponsors awards for individuals that have contributed
significantly to amateur football. We will support amateur football activities
such as the annual HS Football All-Star Game played each July and the annual
awards luncheon held after the season. In our area there are many players,
coaches and officials who deserve to be honored for their accomplishments
both on the field and in the classroom. We will recruit and organize people
that are dedicated to amateur football and are willing to help us plan,
organize and implement chapter events.
Membership benefits include
a membership card, a quarterly national newsletter, a bi-monthly WNY Chapter
newsletter and the chance to associate with people who support amateur
football in Western New York. |
